Part-Time | $17.56/hr. | Non-Exempt

If so, Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority (NeMCMHA) invites you to apply for our Community Employment Job Coach position!

As a Job Coach, you’ll work directly with individuals at their place of employment to:

  • Teach appropriate work behaviors and social skills for job success
  • Support microenterprise efforts, including marketing and bookkeeping
  • Participate in person-centered planning to help individuals achieve their employment dreams
  • Serve as a liaison between employers and NeMCMHA staff
  • Ensure safety and facilitate natural supports in the workplace and community
  • Monitor job tasks and assist with accommodations as needed

You may also support other programs to meet individual and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental illness is valued
  • Lived experience with disabilities or substance use disorders is a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with individuals, families, case managers, and clinicians
  • Maintain accurate case records and uphold confidentiality
  • Support transportation needs and promote inclusive employment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Follow safety protocols and uphold recipient rights

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, lift up to 25 lbs, stretch/reach, hear, see, and drive. Reasonable accommodations available.
