PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Salary to be commensurate with experience
The hiring range for this position is $58,487.00 - $73,108.00/annually

The Homelessness Program Coordinator will have primary responsibility over the Aurora Flexible Housing Fund, assist with grants management, and other homelessness-related duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Train community partners, coordinate the invoicing and payment process to providers, approve or deny applications, and other AFF related duties
Work with cross-departmental colleagues (Police, Code Enforcement, Parks, etc.) and our community partners that provide homeless services in Aurora and regionally. Have direct contact with families and individuals experiencing homelessness through both programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in community engagement, human services program coordination, housing stability initiatives, or related experience supporting underserved populations
The principles and practices of neighborhood outreach, program development, public administration, and local government structure and services
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with employees, partners, and community members, with or without reasonable accommodation
Uses standard office equipment including laptop and common office software such as email, internet, Word, Excel and databases such as HMIS
This position may require the incumbent to use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment
The city of Aurora will implement furlough days (unpaid days off) for most employees in 2026. The scheduled furlough dates are January 16, April 10, July 2, and December 24.
