Qualification:

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Social Sciences or related discipline

Relevant Experience:

Minimum 01-02 years relevant experience a non-profit organization or Public-sector institutions in the field of Social Mobilization and Community engagement.

Job Description:

  • Conduct door-to-door sessions on Maternal and new born health, Family planning, Mental health (using de-stigmatizing language) & Gender-based violence (GBV) services (Primary level information)
  • Organize group dialogue sessions (segregated by gender/age)
  • Distribute culturally appropriate IEC materials in local languages
  • Identify at-risk individuals i.e. Pregnant and lactating women, GBV survivors, Individuals with psychological distress or disabilities and ensure they are connected to appropriate services
  • Use observation plus interviews to detect signs and Refer to Health facilities (LHVs, psychologists), Women-Friendly Spaces (WFS) & Protection/legal services
  • Promote WFS as safe, inclusive community spaces.
  • Mobilize community participation during campaigns or key events.
  • Coordinate with facility teams during SRH, MNCH, hygiene, and mental health campaigns
  • Guide beneficiaries on how to access services (dates, locations, procedures)
  • Report rumors or resistance within the community
  • Offer basic psychosocial support and promote stress management.
  • Use WHO’s “Look, Listen, Link” approach
  • Educate on Sleep hygiene, Stress and grief coping strategies
  • Refer serious mental health cases to professionals
  • Promote help-seeking through religious or traditional references
  • Ensure privacy and confidentiality, especially in GBV and MHPSS referrals.
  • Build community awareness on how to access multisectoral services through internal and external referrals.
  • Conduct sessions on Survivor-centred approaches, Informed consent and Confidential referral processes.
  • Ensure continuity of care and strengthen community feedback loops.
  • Follow up with referred cases (with consent)
  • Identify and report barriers to service uptake (e.g., transport, stigma)
  • Document community feedback and share with supervisors for improvements
  • Any task assigned by the supervisor.
