About the Role

It is a remote part-time role. As a Community Software Engineer (NodeJS) Intern, you will work at the intersection of engineering and developer engagement. You’ll contribute to BeamJS, support other developers, and help shape our open-source ecosystem by producing high-quality technical content and enabling the community to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Development

  • Contribute to NodeJS-based features, modules, and SDKs for BeamJS.
  • Review, test, and merge pull requests from community contributors.
  • Debug and fix community-reported issues.
  • Write sample applications and integration examples.

Community Engagement & Technical Content

  • Engage with the developer community through GitHub, forums, and online meetups.
  • Prepare technical content including documentation, tutorials, and code samples.
  • Create blog posts, demos, and other materials to showcase BeamJS features.
  • Collect feedback from the community and share it with the engineering team to guide improvements.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and NodeJS.
  • Understanding of ExpressJS, MongoDB, or SQL/NoSQL concepts.
  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and open-source workflows.
  • Interest in backend development and scalable architectures.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills in Arabic and English (written & verbal).
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with developer communities.
  • Ability to create clear, developer-friendly technical content.
  • Eagerness to learn new frameworks and tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Angular.
  • Familiarity with AI integration or API-based architectures.
  • Prior contributions to open-source projects.
  • Knowledge of DevOps basics (CI/CD, containers).
