Purpose of the role


The Sr. Manager, Compensation will provide leadership and management for a team of compensation analysts based in India. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of global compensation processes, leveraging technology and data analysis to support the business needs. The successful candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and experience managing teams.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Technology and Tools Management:
    Manage and develop new short (<1 year) and long-term (1-3 year) strategies for the use of external benchmarking tools (MarketPay, Mercer IPE). Stays abreast of new compensation technologies, tools, and AI solutions to drive efficiency across the team. Leverage current and new technologies to identify efficiencies, develop new workflows, and maximize tool capabilities. Provide training to team members and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Compensation Execution Liaison: Partner with the US Compensation Manager to develop routines and products for India analysts to support compensation consultants (Annual Performance & Rewards, Competitive Reviews, etc.) and ad hoc project work. Collaborate with the Compensation Programs and Process Manager to ensure efficient survey participation, enterprise data analysis, and process support. Provide a centralized structure for consultant and compensation programs and process support, ensuring compensation practices align with business needs through proactive data insights and pay practice management.
  • Salary Surveys & Job Evaluation: Provide leadership to analysts regarding salary survey participation (timelines, completion, and capacity). Lead the execution of the job evaluation process, ensuring consultant and analyst support. Manage the connection between salary surveys and job evaluation within MarketPay. Ensure surveys are completed accurately and on time, and that the job evaluation process is clear, SLAs are met, and communication lines are established between compensation analysts and global consultants.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and retain India compensation analysts. Manage team performance, provide development opportunities, and build team capabilities. Hold the team accountable for Global Compensation priorities.

Objectives:

  • Ensure compensation tools are leveraged to their full capabilities to support all processes; implement new releases as applicable.
  • Provide centralized structure to consultant and comp ops support.
  • Ensure compensation is supporting the business needs through proactive data insights and pay practice management.
  • Ensure surveys are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure the job evaluation process is clear, SLA is met, and clear communication lines exist between comp analysts and global consultants.
  • Build capabilities and hold the team accountable for Global Comp priorities.
  • Develop a high-performing team of engaged, skilled, and knowledgeable analysts.

  • Seamless workflow across India and U.S. Compensation teams.
  • Compensation consultants have the capacity to expand consulting and strategic insights for the business, ultimately driving greater trust and partnership with HR.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Strong leadership skills with proven results
  • Strong business acumen and experience with compensation programs (salary structures, job evaluations)
  • Strong client relationship and presentation skills
  • Knowledgeable about all major aspects of compensation delivery, and familiar with compensation design principles for, base pay and short- and long-term incentives
  • Superior skills in quantitative analysis, including advanced skills in Excel, and other database tools and systems
  • Drive for process and technology management and improvement
  • Working knowledge of all MS Office applications including Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong project and process management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Expertise in compensation principles, program design, communication, and implementation
  • Experience in global compensation programs
  • Experience providing support to one or more client groups and managing competing priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work at and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in Workday, MarketPay and Mercer WIN
  • Advanced Degree (MBA, MA-HRIR)
  • Certification in Human Resources such as a CCP, PHR, SPHR or GPHR
