PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The job of Compensation Processes Analyst is done for the purpose/s of ensuring the accuracy of all employment-related processes for the hiring, transferring, and termination of employees within the HR system following the compensation guidelines. The incumbent works closely with internal and external departments and agencies to provide employment and compensation reports and statistics.

REQUIREMENTS:


1. Educational Level:

High School diploma/GED required.


2. Experience/Equivalency:

Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired; 5 or more years’ experience in Human Resources and/or payroll processing, with equal experience/training in relational database querying and report generation.


3. Requirements:


Additional testing for selected candidate may be required.

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.


5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: personnel practices applied within a school district environment; interpreting contract language, codes, regulations and laws related to the job functions; considerable knowledge of a variety of software applications.


SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; excellent customer service; and utilizing pertinent software applications.


ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related

equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.


Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.


2.


Acts in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Manager of Compensation for the purpose of providing day-to-day guidance and decision making in processes and issues arising out of the employment processing for the organization.


3.


Assists in processing professional contracts for existing employees for the purpose of ensuring compliance with GADOE rules, regulations and deadline; and monitoring contract acceptance.


4.


Assists the Compensation Manager and ERP HRPY Business Analyst in the design of reports for the purpose of providing administrative access to appropriate employment and compensation data from the HRPY system.


5.


Assists in processing Teachers Retirement System retirees returning to work through required online annual reporting (e.g., teachers, clerical, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with TRS mandates.


6.


Compiles payroll information related to work assignments for the purpose of providing required and/or requested documentation and/or processing information.


7.


Completes and/or assists with preparing reports (e.g., GA Dept of Labor, surveys, CPI; etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.


8.


Monitors a variety of processes (e.g., maintaining a tracking system of all personnel actions, teacher/administrator evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient processing of new hires and current employees in addressing position requirements and adhering to legal and/or administrative requirements.

Participates in meetings that involve a range of issues (e.g., personnel actions, regulatory requirements, actions involving outside agencies, inter-department needs; monthly webinars and selected advisory committee to stay up to date on state mandates advising district leaders of new guidelines, policies, and system changes, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or supporting other staff.

Performs a variety of special projects (e.g., wage surveys and reports, system queries, pay analysis, etc.) for the purpose of supporting budgeting and executive decision making for the organization.

Performs a variety of advanced user/intermediate-level technical tasks within the HR/Payroll system and state teacher/administrator evaluation database for the purpose of supporting the maintenance and timely updating of the HR data for the organization.


12.


Processes documents and materials (e.g., salary schedule, start/end calendar, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.


13.


Responds to inquiries regarding payroll procedures (e.g., direct deposits, resolve payroll discrepancies, etc.) for the purpose of providing necessary information for assisting employees, taking appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines.


14.


Responds to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of resolving compensation problems.


15.


Verifies retiree status of all third-party contract agreements (e.g., Title I, Professional Learning, GLRS, Special Ed, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with Teachers Retirement System rules and regulations concerning retirees working.


16.


Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
