The Completion & Well Intervention Engineer is responsible for well engineering and operations support for one or more completion/workover rigs/rigless completion operation including preparing Completion and Workover Programs and procedures; and AFE's. The Completion & Well Intervention Engineer supervises and mentors FET's and junior engineers. This person attends critical operations at the wellsite as necessary in a technical advisory capacity.

Work with Subsurface and Production to ensure completion and workover plans meet requirements and objectives. * Reviews Completion Basis of Design and performs detailed design checks.

Review all completion hardware components for compatibility with clearances, setting pressure/turns/weight, and couplings.

Review regulatory requirements to determine downhole and surface safety equipment requirements and confirm compliance of final equipment configuration.

Review current well status and well integrity.

Prepare final well status post completion / workover.

Prepare completion / workover operations flowchart and contingencies.
-
Confirm final hardware design and compatibility (stimulation, treating, production) with TDAS.

Write program for making up sub-assemblies, drifting, gauging and pressure testing prior to them being RIH.

Determine required fluid density and composition for formation compatibility to minimize formation damage and manage fluid losses.

Review and determine compatibility of all slickline and wireline operations required.

Review fishing tool requirements and alternatives (workover).

Write program for setting cement plugs e.g. squeezing perforations, and any remedial cementing (workover).

Review and insure compliance with high pressure treating standards.

Ensure compliance with IPM Standards for Simultaneous Activities.

Ensure IPM Barrier Standards is complied with when removing the BOP and installing the Christmas Tree.

Prepares Completion / Workover Programs and follows the execution of programs technically.

Prepares Completion / Workover procedures.

Prepares Completion / Workover time estimates and AFE's.

Review the program with all parties involved (drilling contractor, completion, wellhead, slickline, etc.).

Participates in selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers and equipment.

Ensures proper communication with relevant parties (client, Product Lines, third parties, etc.).

Participates in cost control of programs vs AFE by analyzing solutions."

Reviews new technology for possible application to project.

Uses InTouch for best practices, lessons learned and technical alerts.

Participates in HARC's.

Prepares requests for exemptions to IPM Standards in QUEST.

Enters SQ RIR's resulting from Completion / Workover operations in QUEST.

Prepares Management of Change to Completion / Workover programs.

Forecasts and plans medium and long term needs to meet program requirements.

Anticipates operational changes and needs and revises plan accordingly.

Participates in Daily Operations Meetings.

QA/QC of data in Daily Report.

Monitors daily progress against plan.
-
Monitors actual costs Vs AFE.
-
Record and monitor operational NPT trends.
-
Evaluates results Vs goals and performance of service companies.
-
Initiates engineering corrective action to ensure a process of continuous improvement.

Performs engineering studies to solve recurring problems (completion hardware problems, etc.).
