As the Compliance Analyst, Pharmacy Programs, you will play a critical role in the process of evaluating pharmacies for compliance with regulations and program requirements to support NABP’s mission to protect public health. You will develop, analyze, and review applicant materials for the pharmacy Accreditation and Inspection programs, including applications, submissions of other materials, eligibility determinations, and inspection/survey results. Additionally, you will provide recommendations and report adverse findings to the Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Programs and participate in NABP staff and contractor training. You may perform onsite inspections and surveys for pharmacy program applicants as well.
Compliance Development
- Performs reviews, analyzes data, and reports findings from applicant materials, including, but not limited to applications, document submissions, policies and procedures, inspection/survey findings, eligibility determination, applicant responses, and audits.
- Performs quality control and quality assurance activities related to inspection and survey reports.
- Seeks input from Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Programs or Compliance Senior Manager regarding unusual findings or concerns.
- Responds to applicant inquiries and conducts intake calls.
- Assists with development and execution of training presentations for contractors and NABP staff.
Inspector/Surveyor
- Performs VPP inspections and Pharmacy Accreditation surveys.
- Reviews application materials and performs pre-inspection/survey reviews to prepare for inspection/survey.
- Comprehensively and concisely describes observations and gathers necessary information into inspection and survey reports.
- Completes required reports and submits no less than 5 days from the completion of the inspection or survey.
- Assists with training contractors in the field and provides feedback.
Information Improvements
- Makes improvements, with Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Programs and Compliance Senior Manager, for resolution of compliance conflicts identified during review of applicant materials and other information gathered during the pharmacy accreditation or inspection process.
- Routinely meets with the Accreditation & Inspection team to review open program and applicant questions, review compliance issues, evaluate complex business models, and to monitor and track resolutions.
Program Support
- Maintains a list of applicants and reaccreditations in process.
- Compiles data from results across pharmacy inspection and accreditation programs into reports.
- Assists Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Programs in development and/or maintenance of program manuals, interpretative guides, and other accreditation and inspection materials.
- Pharmacy technician national certification or state pharmacist license is required.
- 10+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist is required.
- Sterile compounding experience is required.
- Proficient knowledge of rules/regulations governing the practice of pharmacy is required.
- Inspection and regulatory compliance in pharmacy or other related health care field experience is preferred.
- Experience with developing and reviewing policies and procedures and quality related programs is preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and communicate issues and solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills and ability to multitask without direction.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Excel or similar office software.
- Ability to work in a team environment with both office and remote-based staff.
- Routine air and ground overnight travel is required.
- Any combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards requirements listed above and that provides the required knowledge, and abilities may be deemed acceptable for this position.
