Compliance Associate

Davis Selected Advisers is currently seeking a Compliance Associate. This position will work with all levels of staff and management.

The primary job responsibilities for the Compliance Associate include:

• Review trading and prepare compliance reports to ensure that each portfolio is managed in accordance with its investment policies, the firm’s policies and procedures, and in compliance with applicable securities laws and regulations
• Assist with Code of Ethics, including review of personal investment activities of investment company personnel, gifts and entertainment, outside business activities, etc.
• Assist with registration and information updates for Registered Representatives through FINRA
• Assist with updating and reviewing our Compliance Manuals
• Assist with approved Broker review
• Assist with clone variance analysis
• Assist with Form 13-f filings
• Assist with proxy voting (N-PX)
• Assist with class action litigations
• Assist with Year-End Compliance Auditor Reports
• Assist with employee compliance training
• Respond to inquiries from Davis employees, including Access Persons and Portfolio Managers, regarding compliance policies and procedures
• Special projects and other duties as assigned by the CCO
• Keep current on regulatory and industry development changes

A successful candidate will have the following skills:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, with one or two years of experience preferable
• Knowledge of securities industry, laws, rules, and regulations preferable
• Multi-tasking, analytical, and organizational skills
• Attentive to detail and understands the importance of accurately documenting our policies, procedures, and controls
• Must demonstrate personal integrity, responsibility, and accountability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Self-motivation, flexibility, and initiative
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
