Compliance Officer

Based in the Downtown Los Angeles Fashion District, Ambiance Apparel is a leading manufacturer, importer and wholesaler of casual basic apparel for women & juniors. Founded in 1999, Ambiance Apparel has been catering to the fashion needs of retailers and wholesalers for over 20 years with quality products at affordable prices and high-volume availability of inventory.

Ambiance Apparel is seeking to hire a full-time on-site Compliance Officer. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, managing and monitoring compliance policies and procedures to ensure the company’s operations align with legal and regulatory requirements. This individual will play a critical role in risk management, policy enforcement, and corporate governance.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance and Monitoring

• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization stays compliant with the laws and regulations
• Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of compliance matters

Program Review and Development

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures
• Analyze new and changing laws and regulations that impact the company’s business and advise senior management accordingly
• Review compliance risk assessments and determine if current processes control risk

Training and Internal Education

• Drafting and maintaining employee training for compliance
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related policies and best practices
• Ensure all staff understand and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements

Compliance Reporting and Documentation

• Create, maintain, and update reporting of compliance tests and risk assessments
• Prepare reports to the executive leadership on compliance status

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience, including at least one year of experience as a senior compliance officer at a mid-to-large size company (100+ employees).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to imports, customs, and FinCEN. Fashion industry experience preferred.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Experience communicating and interacting with regulatory agencies and regulatory affairs
• Experience in conducting training sessions and developing compliance frameworks
• Proficiency in English, bilingual proficiency in Korean preferred (written and verbal)
• Certified Compliance Professional or other compliance-related certification
