Compliance Officer

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Compliance Officer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the Company's compliance framework and ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance standards. The role involves close collaboration with senior management and cross-functional teams, direct engagement with regulators, and acting as the Company's primary liaison with VARA.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Company's primary liaison on regulatory and compliance matters
• Support the AML/CFT framework across CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity escalation processes
• Conduct compliance reviews and audits
• Prepare, maintain, and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and controls
• Support regulatory reporting, internal readiness, and audit coordination
• Develop training materials and deliver compliance training
• Work closely with internal teams to embed compliance and control requirements into business operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of compliance and risk management experience, preferably within virtual assets, fintech, payments, or another regulated sector
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required; advanced certifications in compliance or risk management are a plus
• Eligible to meet applicable VARA fit and proper requirements
• UAE resident or UAE passport holder; candidates currently based in Dubai will be preferred
• Strong knowledge and experience in compliance management and regulatory compliance
• Deep understanding of VARA regulations and the UAE PDPL
• Experience with MiCA, FATF Travel Rule compliance, or other international virtual asset standards is an advantage
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
