The Role

The Compliance Officer will form part of the regional support team at Savills Middle East and will be responsible for assisting the Compliance department with AML compliance reviews and approvals after office hours.

The position offers remote working with occasional office attendance as per business requirements, with working hours scheduled Monday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Initial training will be conducted during standard office hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review KYC / Customer Due Diligence measures on clients as per the Client Onboarding Policy and issue approval for low-risk clients.
  • Perform sanctions screening via online screening tool and accurately accept/reject screening hits relating to watchlists, adverse media, PEPs and sanctions.
  • Escalate complex screening results to the Compliance department.
  • Liaise with real estate agents to obtain outstanding KYC/CDD/EDD information and documents.
  • Perform risk assessments on clients and escalate any high-risk client profiles to Assistant Compliance Manager.
  • Accurately capture and maintain client information in CRM systems.
  • Ensure proper record retention in line with UAE regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate potentially suspicious transactions and escalate to Assistant Compliance Manager.
  • Maintain awareness of local regulations and standards and any updates thereof.

In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Certification in compliance-related disciplines (e.g., CAMS, ACAMS) is preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in AML compliance within UAE, of which at least 1 year must be within the real estate or residential agency industry.
  • At least 1 year experience using sanction screening system tools is compulsory.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
