Job Mission
As the Compliance Partner at Roche Egypt, you play a pivotal role in embedding Roche’s Compliance strategic framework & management systems within the Egyptian affiliate. Acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner for the business leads, you ensure that ethical principles and compliance standards are seamlessly integrated into daily business operations. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, Finance, HR, and IT to foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency—enabling sustainable business impact and patient trust.
Your Impact
Embed and Elevate the Compliance Framework
Translate Roche Group compliance policies and local requirements into pragmatic, fit-for-purpose processes and SOPs for the affiliate.
Maintain and update compliance SOPs, process maps and living documentation to reflect regulatory changes, industry codes, and internal expectations.
Identify gaps between policy and practice and lead corrective/change initiatives to raise the compliance maturity of the affiliate.
Establish practical control measures and periodic review cycles to ensure sustained compliance effectiveness.
Compliance Culture & Capability Building
Drive a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making across all functions.
Design and implement comprehensive compliance learning programs — including onboarding, refresher sessions, and targeted training — to build awareness and accountability at all organizational levels.
Partner with business leaders to embed compliance principles into everyday practices, ensuring alignment between policy and behavior.
Foster open dialogue and a “speak-up” mindset, encouraging employees to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
Promote collaboration and shared ownership of compliance outcomes through continuous engagement, communication, and recognition of best practices.
Act as a visible role model, reinforcing Roche’s values of integrity, courage, and passion in all interactions.
Create a yearly training roadmap aligned to risk-profile, new regulations, and business priorities (onboarding, refresher, role-based modules, e-learning).
Develop training materials, facilitator guides and assessment tools; coordinate delivery (in-person and virtual) and logistics.
Track training completion and comprehension metrics, escalate non-compliance in training uptake, and drive remediation.
Use post-training feedback and performance data to iterate and improve content and delivery format.
Risk Assessment & Compliance Monitoring
Lead periodic compliance risk assessments across functions to identify, rank and prioritize risks based on likelihood and business impact
Design and implement monitoring controls (sample testing, transaction reviews, KPI dashboards) to detect compliance gaps early.
Prepare the affiliate for internal and external audits by ensuring documentation, evidence and controls are inspection-ready.
Coordinate follow-up activities post-audit, track remediation plans, and verify closure of findings.
Business Enablement & Partnership
Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day compliance queries from Commercial, Medical, Finance, HR, IT and other teams.
Evaluate business requests against Roche Code of Conduct, local laws, SOPs and industry codes; provide clear, practical recommendations.
Support contract review interactions with Legal, and coordinate external legal advice when specialist interpretation is required.
Translate complex regulatory requirements into succinct guidance and decision-trees the business can apply immediately.
Compliance Documentation & Reporting Framework
Maintain a consolidated repository of compliance activities, SOP versions, training records, and evidence of monitoring.
Define and report key compliance metrics (e.g., training completion, risk mitigation status, monitoring results, open findings) to management and regional compliance.
Produce timely management reports and dashboards that highlight trends, emerging risks and progress against remediation plans.
Use metrics to influence senior stakeholders and to prioritize resources for highest-risk areas.
Incident Management & Data Integrity
Co-lead with the investigation committee, management and Legal consultant in the local handling of alleged non-compliance and integrity investigations, ensuring end to end effective process execution and confidentiality.
Coordinate all the relevant documentation and follow-up actions; recommend disciplinary or remedial steps based on policies and facts.
Support data privacy activities in coordination with the Data Privacy Coordinator to ensure personal data handling complies with applicable requirements.
Enable Compliance Governance
Participate in the design of preventive and detective controls; help pilots and test controls for feasibility and effectiveness.
Evaluate control performance and recommend optimization or automation opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Work with IT and process owners to integrate controls into business workflows and relevant systems where feasible.
Who You Are
– You hold a Bachelor’s degree in BA, Law, Finance, Life Sciences or any related field. A Master’s degree or further specialization in Compliance, Risk, or Corporate Governance is a strong plus.
– You bring 2–4 years of experience in legal, audit or compliance or any related control functions, ideally within healthcare, biotech or diagnostics industry or related regulated industry; “Tobacco, Oil & Gas or Telecom”.
– You act as the reliable partner to the business leaders, by role modeling ethical decision-making as well as advising business owners towards translating compliance principles into daily practice.
– You are an effective communicator who leads with empathy, and credibility so as to influence the business outcomes in line with the compliance strategic vision.
– You combine strong analytical abilities with practical judgment to assess risks, interpret regulations, and develop actionable, business-relevant recommendations.
– You are curious, adaptable & resilient, where you have the ability to lead through an ambiguous business environment to ensure a sustainable ethical culture.
