We are looking for a
CompTIA A+ Instructor
to teach students the foundational IT skills needed for entry-level roles like Help Desk Technician, Desktop Support Specialist, and Field Service Technician.
You will prepare students to pass
both CompTIA A+ exams
(Core 1: 220-1101 and Core 2: 220-1102) through engaging lectures, hands-on labs, and real-world troubleshooting scenarios.
If you have worked in IT support, love explaining technical concepts to beginners, and can make topics like "subnetting" or "printer maintenance" actually interesting — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery

Deliver live classes (in-person or virtual) covering all A+ domains:

Hardware (PC components, mobile devices, printers)
-
Networking (ports, protocols, Wi-Fi, basic IP addressing)
-
Operating Systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile OS)
-
Security (malware removal, authentication, physical security)
-
Software Troubleshooting (boot issues, crashes, performance)
-
Operational Procedures (ticketing systems, documentation, safety)
-
Create and update lesson plans, slide decks, and lab exercises
-
Use real-world scenarios to teach systematic troubleshooting methodology
Hands-On Lab Management

Design and supervise physical lab activities (PC assembly, RAM installation, peripheral setup)

Configure and manage virtual lab environments (virtual machines, simulators)
-
Demonstrate command-line tools (ipconfig, chkdsk, sfc, diskpart, etc.)
Student Assessment & Support

Create quizzes, mock exams, and practical assessments
-
Track student progress and provide individualized remediation
-
Hold office hours for struggling students
-
Maintain a pass rate of [X]% or higher for first-time exam takers
Exam Preparation

Teach exam-taking strategies (time management, question elimination, PBQ practice)

Provide weekly practice exams with detailed answer explanations

Stay current with CompTIA A+ exam updates (objectives change every 3 years)
Required Qualifications
IT Experience (Hands-On)

Minimum
2–3 years
of experience in IT support roles such as:

Certification

CompTIA A+ certification

Teaching Experience

Minimum
1–2 years
of teaching or training experience (any of the following):

Classroom instructor at a school, college, or bootcamp

Corporate trainer

IT mentor or team lead who trained junior staff

Online course creator or tutor
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 administration

Familiarity with macOS and Linux basics

Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic networking

Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, or similar)
Soft Skills

Ability to explain complex topics to absolute beginners

Patience and empathy for students who learn at different paces

Strong classroom management (even in virtual settings)

Excellent verbal and written communication
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

or equivalent teaching credential
