Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cat Scan Technologist (CT Tech) to join our Imaging team at Chilton Medical Center. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skill, professionalism, and commitment to patient safety while performing CT imaging procedures. This role requires adherence to departmental protocols, excellent communication with patients and staff, and the ability to manage workflow efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Communication:
- Communicate with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety while protecting privacy and dignity.
- Verify patient identity according to AHS policy.
- Monitor patients before and after contrast injections and report any changes to nursing staff or radiologists.
Procedure & Imaging Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy and diagnostic quality.
- Obtain required medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for procedures.
- Maintain sterility of instruments and follow all HIPAA and safety regulations.
- Adhere to room assignments across CT scan rooms (CT 1, 2, and 3).
Contrast & Emergency Readiness:
- Assess patient tolerance for contrast and screen for allergies or contraindications.
- Follow venipuncture and power injector protocols.
- Initiate basic emergency response steps in the event of complications.
Workflow & Coordination:
- When assigned as “Point Tech,” triage procedures and coordinate all emergency and unscheduled requests.
- Maintain workflow to ensure timely and safe patient throughput.
- Communicate with departments regarding patient status and facilitate immediate post‑procedure transport.
Equipment, Inventory & Quality Control:
- Maintain adequate supplies, contrast media, linens, and biopsy materials in each scanning room.
- Clean and maintain CT gantry, tables, and peripheral equipment after each use.
- Perform daily inventory, restocking, and equipment checks; report expiring items.
- Notify coordinator or lead technologist of equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain QA/QC requirements according to daily, monthly, and ACR guidelines.
Imaging Transmission & Reporting:
- For cases such as Code Grey, Trauma, or Partial Trauma:
- Acquire, process, send, and verify images immediately in PACS/RIS according to protocol.
- Notify radiologists promptly of urgent cases and unusual findings.
QualificationsRequired:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Radiographer Technical Training Program from a School of Radiography or college-based program
- ARRT RT (R)
- ARRT RT (CT)
- NJDEP New Jersey State X‑Ray License
- BLS Certification
Preferred:
- None specified, but additional imaging certifications are beneficial

- Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week

Pay: $1,500.00 - $3,333.40 per week
