Computer Science Intern

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or further education in computer sciences, programming, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering degree.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.

• Basic understanding of or willingness to learn SQL databases (MariaDB, MySQL) and relational database design principles.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration practices.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Interest in automation, IoT, and smart manufacturing technologies.

• Interest in debugging and troubleshooting is a plus.

• Interest in implementation of changes to automated digital systems.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• College advanced level math skills (vector calc or similar)

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Good computer skills.

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Node.js, React.js, Next.js, and MySQL/MariaDB.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to approach problems logically and ask clarifying questions.

• Willingness to learn how to collect data and interpret basic technical instructions.

• Comfortable working with guidance to analyze workflows and suggest improvements.

• Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability when faced with new technologies or abstract concepts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently required to sit for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Shared office (cubicle) environment.

• Occasional tasks in Laboratory and Manufacturing environments, requiring Personal Protective Equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
