Provides desktop support for all Department computer hardware and software, in a Microsoft Windows enterprise environment, including installation, configuration, and upgrade of new hardware/software, troubleshooting and problem resolution of hardware/software-related issues, and end-user support/training. Provides system administration for designated applications, including virus scanning and operating system updates; assists with the management of hardware and software inventory.


QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:


    • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in the support of Local Area Network (LAN)/Server or minicomputer-based systems,

OR

    • One (1) year of related college-level course work (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) OR equivalent academic training from a technical institute/formal military education program (minimum of 450 classroom hours) OR unrelated Associate’s Degree; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the support of Local Area Network (LAN)/Server or minicomputer-based systems,


OR


  • Graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience in the support of Local Area Network (LAN)/Server or minicomputer-based systems.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

    • Experience installing and troubleshooting software/hardware in a Windows network environment,
    • Experience training/assisting users on hardware/software procedures, and

    • Information Technology (IT) certifications (e.g., Microsoft, A+) (Copies of Certifications must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).
