Computer Test Operator 2

Supports the testing and basic troubleshooting of computer and communications systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

• Performs routine software and hardware testing of computer and communications systems using provided test tools.
• Performs routine maintenance and upgrades as required.
• Follows established test procedures and scripts to validate the performance of software and hardware.
• Reports testing failures, faults, or inconsistencies as instructed.
• Records test results, updates documentation, and assists in preparing technical reports.
• Completes all required documentation, pre and post-test write-ups, and correspondence with test leadership.
• Performs basic troubleshooting of software and hardware issues.
• Assists senior technicians with more complicated test scenarios and special projects.
• Complies with all operational, security, and safety guidelines and procedures.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of experience in computer or communication system software and hardware testing and troubleshooting
• U.S. Citizenship required and the ability to qualify for security clearance at the SECRET level
• Basic understanding of computers, networking, or communication systems
• Understanding of personal computers and current Windows operating systems
• Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and pay close attention to detail
• Ability to travel for 1 to 2 weeks per year as required (domestic only)
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of desktop applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Security + certification or higher
• Active Secret clearance
• Previous cybersecurity experience
• Prior military experience; Navy preference
