Job Summary for Concrete Pump Operator:
The Concrete Pump Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining concrete pumping equipment at construction sites. This role ensures safe, efficient, and accurate placement of concrete in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. The operator must be skilled in equipment handling, troubleshooting, and coordinating with site teams to complete concrete pouring operations smoothly.
Key Responsibilities for Concrete Pump Operator:
· Operate concrete pump machines to place concrete at assigned locations on construction sites.
· Set up, inspect, and position the pump safely before operations.
· Monitor equipment performance and adjust pumping pressure and flow as needed.
· Direct and coordinate the movement of the pump boom or hoses during concrete placement.
· Perform daily maintenance checks and ensure the pump and related tools are in proper working condition.
· Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major faults to the maintenance team.
· Clean the pump, hopper, and pipes after each operation to prevent concrete buildup.
· Follow all safety rules and site regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
· Communicate effectively with site supervisors, concrete truck drivers, and workers.
· Maintain accurate records of pump operations and site activity.
· Ability to lift heavy hoses and equipment.
· Comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when required.
· Flexibility to work extended hours depending on site schedules.
Concrete Pump Operator Skills & Qualifications required:
· Good knowledge of concrete pumping techniques and equipment handling.
· Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
· Valid license/certification to operate concrete pumping machinery (as required by local regulations).
