Position Overview
Join the firm as a Construction Associate within the Real Estate Group, focusing on construction transactional law with a specialization in drafting and negotiating contracts for commercial, energy, and large infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
- Draft and negotiate EPC contracts on large infrastructure and energy projects.
- Provide strategic advice to clients regarding claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delay, and construction defect claims.
- Work with construction teams on litigation and arbitration matters, providing support in all aspects of disputes, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, preparation, and taking of depositions, mediations, and arbitration hearings/trials.
Required Qualifications
- 3-4 years of construction transactional law experience.
- JD from a nationally recognized law school.
- Admitted to practice in the state in which you are applying.
- Experience in a large or mid-sized law firm.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
- Attention to detail and good business judgment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience drafting and negotiating EPC contracts in the energy sector.
- Experience handling construction litigation matters.
