Job Overview
We are seeking highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorneys with 3-8 years’ experience for Employment associate roles or 3-10 years for Construction / Litigation associate roles. The successful candidates will join our team and work alongside shareholders and senior attorneys, handling both litigation and transactional matters within their practice area.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and litigate cases in Employment law: wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour disputes, compliance advice, employer counseling, drafting employment policies, and investigating complaints.
- Manage and litigate Construction & Litigation matters: mechanic’s liens, stop notices, contract disputes, construction defects, payment & performance bond claims, delay/disruption claims, public works issues, etc.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements relevant to practice area (employment contracts, construction contracts, subcontractor and vendor agreements, licensing issues, etc.).
- Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, trial, or other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings and motions, manage discovery, and deposition preparation.
- Assist in client counseling, risk assessment, advising on compliance, and helping clients avoid or mitigate disputes.
- Collaborate with internal teams, senior attorneys, and support staff to ensure high quality, timely, and efficient work.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California Bar.
- 3-10 years of relevant legal experience: employment law OR construction litigation (depending on hire track).
- Strong litigation and/or transactional experience in the relevant area.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft high-quality legal documents.
- Self-starter, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively, take guidance, and progressively handle more responsibility.
Salary & Compensation
- Salary range: approximately $130,000 to $275,000, depending on years of experience, skillset, and area (employment vs construction litigation).
