Construction Crew Member

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• As directed by the Construction Superintendent(s), full-fill daily set worksite tasks at residential construction sites as required. Including but not limited to: o Teaching and supervising unskilled labor

- Footing construction

- Minor Framing

- Interior Trim

- Flooring install

- Painting

- Porch rail and exterior steps construction

- Landscaping

- Assist in subcontractor scheduling and coordination

• Work on construction sites along side homeowners during the process to ensure program success and optimal client experience with the Self-Help Program.

• Assist in the purchase and transport of materials and tools to worksites as necessary.

• As needed, assist Home Repair Team with home repair and construction projects.

• Assist in keeping track of home owner labor hours.

• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience/ Skills:

• 3 + year experience in construction, residential preferred.

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations or be OSHA trained/certified.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office such as Outlook, One Drive, Excel and Word.

• Ability to read construction drawings and work write ups.

• Knowledge of all phases of construction.

• Willingness to work with, and teach unskilled labor safe and effective construction methods.

• Be detail orientated.

• Strong time management skills.

• Eagerness to meet set deadlines.

• Work well in a team setting.

• Ability to communicate both in written and verbal form.

• Ability to drive.

Employee is expected to provide own transportation to job sites as necessary and be able to commute between Henderson, Transylvania, and Polk counties. Reimbursements for personal vehicle use available at standard rate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
