Construction Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of diesel engines, generators, and heavy equipment
  • Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Repair or replace engine components, fuel systems, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime of construction equipment
  • Inspect machinery and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
  • Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality
  • Coordinate with site teams for equipment availability and breakdown response
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and workshop standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and work area

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical certification in diesel mechanics or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Experience with construction equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, generators, trucks)
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
