Job Summary:
The Construction Estimator plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of projects and serves as a leader within the company. This position requires a high level of responsibility, including preparing detailed cost estimates and reviewing third-party estimates for accuracy and alignment with project goals. The Estimator also collaborates closely with the in-house Project Manager to support field operations and ensure seamless, efficient job production.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with clients and subcontractors
- To have a general knowledge of residential construction practices and experience in a leadership role
- To have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the products and services offered, and of the individual project needs
- Communicate with clients to determine the exact scope of work
- Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements
- Visit job sites and other venues necessary to complete estimates
- Maintain a material pricing database
- Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics
- Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts
- Create and present reports to upper management
- Analyze and evaluate offers
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendors
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the team and company operations
- Analyze and review third party estimates, ensuring they are meeting the AGP standard
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure collaboration and efficiency on jobs
Skills required:
- Previous working experience as construction estimator for (3-5) years
- Previous leadership experience
- In-depth knowledge of residential construction – specifically vinyl and fiber cement siding
- Proficient and recent working knowledge with estimating software.
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
- Basic understanding of MS Access
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver
- BA in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field
- Maintain excellent communication with management, employees and customers
- Prioritize and multitask to accomplish multiple assignments and deadlines
- Take initiative to complete assignments, on time, and be held accountable for results
- Maintain professionalism at all times

Projected Total Compensation: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
