Construction Helper (Entry Level)
Job Description
Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting skilled trades workers on construction-related projects. Provides semi-skilled support in the performance of a variety of construction and installation tasks within the assigned craft area at an apprentice level.
Responsibilities
- Assists skilled trade workers with routine installations, construction tasks, and preparation of work areas.
- Assists trade personnel in tasks such as insulating ductwork, prepping surfaces for paint, and general construction site duties.
- Performs site cleanup and organizes tools, materials, and debris as directed.
- Performs area housekeeping.
- Performs similar semi-skilled duties within the assigned craft area (excluding electrical and plumbing) and trains for higher level positions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possesses mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn construction techniques, equipment use, and job site procedures.
- Ability to perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Self-motivated and directed; ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid TX Driver's License is required - must have a clear driving record.
Required Skills
Up to one (1) year experience is required.
