Construction Laborer
Presque Isle, ME – Temporary/Long-Term
Schedule: Full-Time/Days; 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Thursday
Payrate: $17.75 per hour, with increases based on work performed
Immediate openings for reliable Construction Laborers to assist with a large commercial renovation project in Presque Isle. This role offers great daytime hours and the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside an experienced construction crew. This is a long-term temporary assignment expected to last approximately one year, with the potential to grow into a permanent opportunity for dependable employees who demonstrate strong work habits.
The Construction Laborer will assist with a variety of construction and renovation activities. Duties may include site preparation, material handling, assisting skilled tradespeople, and supporting work on building structures and surrounding surfaces. Team members may help with demolition, cleanup, safety setup, and general labor tasks while contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and being part of a team. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, a basic understanding of construction or carpentry work, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and clean up work sites by clearing debris, staging materials, and maintaining safe, organized work areas.
- Assist with repairs or upgrades to walkways, paved surfaces, and other exterior structures.
- Help with interior demolition, material removal, framing support, and general renovation tasks.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Set up cones, barriers, fencing, and signage to maintain safe work zones.
- Support carpenters, equipment operators, and other construction staff as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the site supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks as directed by supervisors and skilled tradespeople.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper use of protective equipment.
- Workers must provide their own basic hand tools and measuring tape.
- Prior experience in construction, carpentry, or related trades preferred, but not required.
