Job Description – Construction Manager
Position Overview
The Construction Manager oversees all phases of residential and commercial construction projects from planning to completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company quality standards. The Construction Manager will coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff, while maintaining compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to align design with field execution.
- Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure clear scope understanding.
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality control, progress, and safety compliance.
- Resolve field issues, delays, or changes in scope proactively.
- Team & Subcontractor Coordination
- Manage and direct superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements, ensuring performance standards are met.
- Foster collaboration between trades and resolve conflicts to keep projects on track.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, approving invoices and change orders.
- Provide accurate reporting on financial performance, schedules, and forecasts.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates.
- Provide regular progress reports and manage expectations around milestones.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and inspectors.
- Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and federal building codes.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards across job sites.
- Maintain documentation for permits, inspections, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in residential or commercial construction management.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Proven leadership in managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Work Location
In office and driving to various jobsites as needed.
