Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Mechanical Engineer with a solid background in delivering mechanical works for major projects in compliance with ADDC, TAQA, and MUSANADA requirements. The candidate must have a deep understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and infrastructure utilities within the UAE regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee the installation of mechanical systems (HVAC, water supply, drainage, firefighting, gas, etc.) for buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with the standards and specifications of ADDC, TAQA, MUSANADA, and other Abu Dhabi authorities.
- Review and prepare mechanical designs, shop drawings, load calculations, and coordination layouts.
- Supervise site execution of mechanical services, ensuring quality and adherence to project schedules.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and local authorities for approvals, inspections, and NOCs.
- Assist in the preparation of BOQs, technical submittals, method statements, and material approvals as per project and client requirements.
- Ensure efficient coordination between mechanical works and other disciplines (civil, electrical, architectural).
- Monitor and document progress, perform site inspections, and enforce QA/QC procedures.
- Manage the testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems to clients or authorities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation including reports, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of UAE experience in mechanical construction engineering, with hands-on involvement in ADDC, TAQA, and MUSANADA projects.
- Strong knowledge of local codes and standards (e.g., ADM, ADDC, ADCD, DEWA) and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP (for HVAC load calculation), and MS Office.
- Experience in MEP coordination, infrastructure utilities, and government building projects (schools, clinics, mosques, housing, etc.).
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
Desirable Experience:
- Worked on mechanical systems for government/public sector projects under MUSANADA guidelines.
- Experience coordinating utility connections (e.g., chilled water, water supply, firefighting) with ADDC/TAQA and securing final NOCs.
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi infrastructure standards and successful handling of authority submissions.
Work Environment:
- Split between office and project site.
- Must follow HSE standards strictly and ensure compliance on-site.
- Requires flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines.
