Construction Project Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support both the Project Manager and Superintendent on a major college project in Long Beach . This role is ideal for someone with a couple of years of experience in the field who is ready to take on more responsibility and grow into a management track role.

You will work closely with operations and field leadership to ensure the project is executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with the company’s quality standards.


Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager and Superintendent in all phases of construction
  • Prepare, review, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Assist with schedule updates, document control, and progress tracking
  • Conduct site walks and participate in jobsite meetings
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and logs
  • Monitor project costs, labor reports, and material tracking
  • Help ensure compliance with DSA, public works, and safety requirements
  • Support closeout process including O&M manuals and as-built documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer role
  • Experience working on public works or DSA projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and processes
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
