Construction Project Manager Self Perform, Energy

What to Expect
As a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of various self-perform construction projects. You will lead our internal Tesla Construction team and collaborate cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering departments to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

What You'll Do
  • Lead a team comprising Project Coordinators, Buyers, Superintendents, and craft personnel
  • Foster a culture focused on safety and quality across projects and throughout the company
  • Conduct constructability reviews of design packages
  • Maintain a proactive, can-do attitude to align stakeholders with project goals
  • Identify project risks and opportunities, actively managing them throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements
  • Interface with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and commissioning teams

What You'll Bring
  • ⁠Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural/architectural fields, including 5 years as a Project Manager
  • Previous experience managing projects valued at $25M or more
  • Proficiency in material take offs and estimating from construction drawings
  • Ability to read, interpret, and manage changes to construction drawings
  • Strong skills in Construction baseline development, change control, cost/schedule performance, and variance analysis
  • Ability to travel to various project locations as needed (up to 50%), often on short notice
