Summary

We are seeking a Technical Lead (Java) to lead and guide the development of our Core Banking System. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java-based enterprise applications, solution design, estimation and delivery management, cloud-based architectures, and technical problem-solving. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to design optimized solutions, oversee delivery timelines, ensure code quality, and drive performance and scalability across systems.

Experience in Banking or Financial Applications is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of core modules within the Core Banking System.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and project managers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Perform design and code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Estimate development effort, plan sprints, and track progress to ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, refactoring, and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth integration, testing, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems and services.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of applications meet enterprise-grade standards.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development, with at least 2–3 years in a technical lead capacity.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Solid understanding of design patterns, scalability principles, and secure coding practices.
• Proven track record in estimating, planning, and managing software delivery in an agile environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Prior experience in Banking or Financial Services applications is an advantage.
