Position Overview
A leading cardiac center in Qassim is seeking a Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist with expertise in adult and pediatric cardiac cases, including complex congenital heart surgeries.
This role is ideal for a Western-trained or internationally certified consultant experienced in high-acuity cardiac anesthesia, perioperative critical care, and multidisciplinary cardiac teams.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties
- Provide anesthesia for:
- Adult cardiac surgeries (CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic surgery)
- Pediatric and neonatal cardiac surgery
- Congenital heart disease interventions
- Perform and interpret intraoperative TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography).
- Manage perioperative hemodynamics in high-risk cardiac patients.
- Lead anesthesia planning in ECMO and cardiopulmonary bypass cases.
- Participate in pediatric cardiac cath lab procedures.
- Oversee post-operative cardiac ICU transitions.
Leadership & Quality
- Contribute to cardiac anesthesia protocols.
- Participate in morbidity & mortality meetings.
- Supervise junior anesthetists and residents.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and Saudi regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology.
- Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia (Adult & Pediatric preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years post-board experience at Consultant level.
- Experience in pediatric congenital cardiac anesthesia is mandatory.
- Eligible for or holding Consultant classification with
Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). - Advanced TEE certification preferred.
- Experience in tertiary or academic cardiac centers.
- Fluency in English (Arabic advantageous).
