Position Summary
A leading hospital in the Eastern Province is seeking a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to strengthen acute care capacity, trauma response, and operational performance within a high-volume Emergency Department.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in:
- Managing high-acuity cases
- Optimizing patient flow
- Supporting accreditation readiness
- Reducing ED overcrowding risk
- Enhancing clinical governance standards
This role is ideal for a Western-trained Consultant experienced in structured emergency systems.
Clinical Scope
- Manage adult and pediatric emergency presentations.
- Lead resuscitations and trauma activations.
- Supervise acute cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and polytrauma cases.
- Participate in mass casualty preparedness protocols.
- Coordinate with ICU, Surgery, and Cardiology teams.
- Oversee triage quality and rapid decision-making pathways.
- Ensure documentation compliance with Saudi regulatory standards.
Department Expectations
- Support ED efficiency KPIs (door-to-doctor time, admission turnaround).
- Contribute to protocol development aligned with international standards.
- Participate in JCI / CBAHI accreditation initiatives.
- Mentor junior physicians and residents.
- Lead M&M reviews and quality audits.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Western Board preferred (ABEM, CCT UK, RCPSC, Australian, etc.).
- Minimum 3-5 years post-board Consultant experience.
- ATLS, ACLS, PALS certified.
- Eligible for Consultant classification with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Experience in high-volume ED (>60,000 visits annually preferred).
