The Department of Critical Care Medicine houses a state-of-the-art closed multi-disciplinary ICU, providing 24×7 care across pediatric and adult critical illnesses. The unit includes an 8-bed MDICU equipped with modern life-support devices, isolation rooms, and a team of trained intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, and dialysis technicians Almas.

Job Summary

Almas Hospital is seeking a Consultant Intensivist to join our Critical Care Medicine department. The candidate will deliver expert-level critical care management, lead a multidisciplinary team, uphold high-quality protocols, and contribute to the ongoing development of our ICU services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level leadership and decision-making in the ICU, 24×7
• Manage critically ill patients with diversity of conditions, including sepsis, trauma, ARDS, post-op care, toxicology, obstetric and neurological emergencies Almas
• Perform and supervise critical procedures: intubation, mechanical and prone ventilation, tracheostomy, invasive monitoring, TTM, critical care ultrasound, bedside endoscopies, pericardiocentesis, IABP, plasmapheresis, and dialysis modalities Almas
• Collaborate with radiology, nephrology, cardiology, surgery, neurology, and allied services for integrated patient care
• Mentor junior doctors, nurses, and support staff to build clinical competencies
• Ensure compliance with evidence-based ICU protocols, infection control, and quality standards
• Engage in audits, M&M meetings, ICU policy development, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS with MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, or equivalent; DM/DNB in Critical Care Medicine highly preferred
• Valid Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council registration
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an intensivist post-specialization in a tertiary care ICU
• Demonstrated proficiency in advanced critical care procedures and ventilator management
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills; ability to function in high-pressure ICU environments
