Job Title: Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Department: Cardiology
Reports To: Head of Cardiology / Medical Director

Job Summary:

The Consultant Interventional Cardiologist is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular diseases requiring interventional procedures. The role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic catheter-based interventions, managing complex cardiac cases, leading clinical programs, and contributing to quality improvement and training initiatives within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic coronary angiography, angioplasty, and stent implantation with high clinical standards.

Conduct percutaneous interventions for structural and peripheral vascular diseases.

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

Participate in emergency cardiac care, including primary PCI for acute coronary syndromes.

Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and critical care specialists for integrated cardiac care.

Review and interpret ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and other diagnostic imaging.

Supervise and mentor junior cardiologists, fellows, and nursing staff.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest interventional technologies, equipment, and best practices.

Participate in departmental audits, morbidity/mortality meetings, and quality assurance programs.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

MBBS / MD / DM (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology (mandatory).

Valid professional license (e.g., DHA / HAAD / MOH / SCFHS / QCHP, as applicable).

Minimum 8 10 years of post-specialization experience, including 5+ years in interventional practice.

Proven record of performing coronary and complex interventional procedures independently.
