Consultant- Mental Health & Expressive Arts Therapy

Introduction:

Child in Need Institute (CINI) has been functioning since 1974 with the mission to ‘To ensure child and adolescents achieve their rights to health, education, nutrition, protection and participation by making duty bearers and community responsive to their wellbeing’. 50 years of organizational experience in Eastern parts of India has enabled CINI to prevent vulnerabilities of children through the creation of multi-stakeholder-based safety nets in close collaboration with the local, district, state, and central governments.

Qualification:

  • Degree/diploma/Certificate in psychology, counselling, social work, or Expressive Arts Therapy.
  • Certified training or demonstrated experience in dance movement therapy, art therapy, or expressive art-based interventions.

Experience:

  • Strong facilitation skills using expressive art, dance and movement therapy to promote emotional wellbeing.
  • Ability to create a safe, inclusive and non-judgmental environment for children, adolescents, youth, women and LGBTQIA+ participants.
  • Understanding of gender, mental health and social inclusion issues, particularly for marginalized and diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and group engagement skills.
  • Ability to document progress and prepare concise session reports.
  • Good communication skills in Hindi.

Key Deliverables:

  • Design and deliver 4 weeks Mental Health & Expressive Arts Therapy in 3 ILC centers [2 days weekly sessions per ILC (1.5 hours each): Children & Adolescents (6–17 yrs) – 1 day and Youth & Women (18–35 yrs) – 1 day; Total: 24 sessions (8 per ILC; 4 for each group)].
  • Include LGBTQIA+ participants in safe, inclusive spaces.
  • Use interactive and implement age-appropriate, interactive art, dance and movement activities to build confidence, emotional awareness, stress management and social skills.
  • Coordinate with the CINI team for materials and logistics.
  • Maintain attendance and session plans, provide basic psychosocial support/referrals.
  • Submit weekly compiled reports covering all 3 ILCs.

Cost to Organization:- INR 30,000/- consultancy fees only for 24 sessions with no additional payments for travel, accommodation, or any other expenses.
