The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist to join our esteemed team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for an experienced professional seeking an excellent work-life balance while contributing to a top-tier women's health program. You will be responsible for providing high-quality outpatient and inpatient clinical care, supporting our commitment to excellence in patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert outpatient clinical consultations in obstetrics and gynecology at the hospital's clinic.
- Perform routine and urgent gynecological procedures in the operating theater and minor procedure rooms.
- Manage antenatal care for low and high-risk pregnancies and conduct deliveries on-call during scheduled shifts.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and ultrasounds to aid in patient diagnosis and management.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records for all patient interactions.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including midwives, nurses, sonographers, and other consultants.
- Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Medical Degree (MD or MBBS) from an accredited institution.
- American Board, UK/Ireland CCST, Canadian Fellowship (FRCSC), or equivalent Western certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology is mandatory.
- Valid SCFHS license as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology (or eligibility for immediate transfer/classification).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience post-certification at the Consultant level.
- Proven experience in managing both low and high-risk obstetric cases and performing a wide range of gynecological surgeries.
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient communication skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Previous experience working in the Middle East/GCC region.
Desirable:
- Sub-specialty interest or training in areas such as Ultrasound, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, or Minimally Invasive Surgery.
