Position: Consultant Palliative Care - Abu Dhabi

Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Palliative Care to join our client's team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will play a critical role in providing high quality, compassionate and patient centered end of life care to individuals in Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas.

As a Consultant in Palliative Care, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the care of patients with life threatening and life limiting illnesses. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to develop and implement comprehensive palliative care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, psychological and spiritual needs to determine the appropriate palliative care plan
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, using evidence based practices
  • Provide expert consultation to other healthcare professionals on the management of complex cases and facilitate communication among team members
  • Prioritize and manage a caseload of patients, while ensuring timely and effective communication with patients and their families
  • Educate patients and families on palliative care options, treatment goals, and disease management strategies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of palliative care services
  • Actively participate in palliative care conferences and meetings to share knowledge and promote best practices
  • Collaborate with community resources and hospice agencies to ensure continuity of care for patients transitioning to end of life care
  • Keep accurate and up to date patient records and documentation in compliance with professional and departmental policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in palliative care, preferably in a hospital or hospice setting
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and ability to collaborate effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the cultural sensitivities and healthcare practices in Abu Dhabi
  • Candidates must have a Western education/training
