JOB OVERVIEW:
A qualified physiotherapist is capable of facilitating the treatment and therapy of patients who suffer from various conditions of the spine, bone, and muscles. To be successful as a Physiotherapist, you should have strong interpersonal skills, good administration skills, the ability to build & maintain patient support, and strong knowledge of physiotherapy techniques, and the ability to work well within a team.
Responsibilities:
- Making assessments of the patient's physical condition.
- Formulating treatment plans to address the conditions and needs of patients based on treatment modalities available.
- Conducting complex mobilization techniques.
- Work with patients who have a range of conditions, including neurological, neuromusculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory, spinal, orthopaedic sometimes over a period of weeks.
- Educating patients, family members, and the community on how to prevent injuries and live a healthy lifestyle.
- Counselling patients on treatment options and plans.
- Ensuring that the centre/unit achieves its weekly, monthly, and yearly revenue targets.
- Referring patients to doctors and other medical practitioners.
- Meeting with doctors and other medical practitioners to solicit referrals to our centre/unit.
- Planning and organising physiotherapy and fitness programs
- Conducting camps or awareness/education programs to identify patients who may benefit from the treatment modalities/programs that we offer.
- Keeping accurate patient evaluation forms, patient progress reports and patient records.
- Following up with patients on treatment progress (after 3 months or 6 months) to ensure that they have benefitted from the treatment provided.
- Speaking to potential patients via telephone or conducting online consultation to get walk- ins to the centre/unit.
- Keep up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients.
- Be legally responsible and accountable.
- Be caring, compassionate and professional at all times.
- Manage clinical risk and ensure that patients who are contraindicated for treatment modalities are not enrolled.
Physiotherapist Requirements:
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- Experience working as a Physiotherapist.
- Good interpersonal skills - Physiotherapists need to give clear instructions and form trusting relationships with patients to encourage them to work towards recovery.
- They may also need to explain complex medical issues in ways that patients can easily understand. They also have to communicate clearly with other healthcare workers, relatives and carers.
- Teamwork skills - You will need to work with other healthcare professionals (such as doctors, nurses and occupational therapists) to develop treatment plans for patients.
- Time management and organisational skills - It is important to keep to appointments and to effectively document each patient’s targets and progress.
- Problem solving skills - You will need to use your knowledge to develop treatment plans and exercises to best improve the patient's health.
Requirements and Qualifications
