Job Purpose
The Consultant Radiologist will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and clinical radiology services, ensuring timely and accurate interpretation of studies and contributing to safe, effective patient care. The postholder will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, participate in service development, and uphold the highest standards of clinical governance and professional practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Interpret a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities within the individual’s scope of practice.
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely imaging reports to support clinical decision-making.
- Perform image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainages, injections, or interventional radiology procedures (where appropriate).
- Offer expert advice to referring clinicians on imaging selection and patient management pathways.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, contributing imaging expertise to patient management plans.
- Ensure patient safety, including appropriate use of ionising radiation and contrast media, in accordance with regulatory standards.
Supervision & Leadership
- Provide clinical leadership within the radiology team, promoting high standards of professional practice.
- Supervise registrars, junior doctors, radiographers, and sonographers, offering guidance, teaching, and mentorship.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental protocols and imaging guidelines.
Governance & Quality
- Participate in clinical audit, discrepancy meetings, peer review, and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., IRMER/IRR, infection control, data protection).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the radiology department.

Medical Education
- Primary medical degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent recognised medical qualification
- Completion of a formal postgraduate specialist training programme in Radiology
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- CCT in Clinical Radiology (Certificate of Completion of Training)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 19 per week
