Role overview:


Protiviti’s Risk and Compliance practice provides financial risk management solutions to banks, financial institutions, and corporate clients. The risk and compliance area focuses mainly on providing clients with credit risk, operational risk, portfolio management, model development, model validation and treasury instrument valuation.


Required skills:


  • Advise financial sector clients on integrating ESG practices into their business operations, including lending and investment activities, business operations, employee engagement, and community impact.
  • Understand sustainable finance emerging regulatory guidance, key products offered by financial institutions and leading global frameworks.
  • Possess understanding of financed emissions computation and validation methodologies and/or emission estimation techniques for multiple industry sectors
  • Understand credit underwriting process and credit risk assessment scorecards and considerations for integrating ESG/climate change into credit risk assessment methodologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and review risk policies, standards and procedures, monitoring implementation and on-going compliance pertaining to climate risk or catastrophic risk on bank’s credit risk or operational risk
  • Integrate climate risk assessment across existing risk practices including lending activities, portfolio analytics, pillar 2 assessment and stress testing.
  • Possess understanding of various climate risk regulatory guidance such as IFRS, TCFD, ISSB and GRI etc. and understanding of frameworks such as SBTi, PCAF and GHG protocol, advising business partners and other functional groups, on emerging and key risk trends, risk events and issues
  • Contribute to developing sustainability services and business development activities, including proposals
  • Review and analyze research papers, white papers, and other relevant technical sources to identify and develop methodologies for quantifying physical and transition risks.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience (relevant to ESG / climate risk domains)
  • Strong knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards.
  • Strong knowledge of climate change risk management and its relevance to financial sector clients.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to lead thought leadership initiatives in the ESG space.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet client deadlines.
  • Passion for sustainability and positively impacting society and the environment.
  • Certifications such as SCR, GARP or Certificate in ESG Investing, CFA institute is desirable
