Consultant Surgical Oncologist - Al Ain

We are currently looking for a highly skilled Consultant Surgical Oncologist to join our team in Al Ain, UAE.

Position Overview

As a consultant surgical oncologist, you will play a vital role in our organization by providing expert care to patients with cancer. You will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients with a wide range of surgical oncological conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional and personalized care to each patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct consultations and physical examinations to assess patients' conditions and make an accurate diagnosis.
  • Develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient, considering their specific needs and medical history.
  • Perform surgical procedures to remove cancerous tumors or lesions while ensuring the safety and well-being of the patient.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including monitoring patients for complications and managing their pain and symptoms.
  • Educate and counsel patients on their treatment options, risks, and possible outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and radiologists, for a comprehensive treatment approach.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in surgical oncology and participate in research activities.
  • Train and supervise junior staff, including medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Adhere to medical ethics, standards of practice, and relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Post-graduate residency training in general surgery and fellowship in surgical oncology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a consultant surgical oncologist.
  • Valid license from the Ministry of Health in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of different cancer types, treatment options, and surgical techniques.
  • Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with patients, their families, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to participate in research and contribute to knowledge development in the field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
