Why this job matters:
We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of the daily routines and procedures of your department. You will focus on learning how the organization runs and completing ad-hoc tasks assigned by your manager.
What you will do:
Throughout the Summer months, the department leads diverse health initiatives with our members and greater RI community. Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI’s (BCBSRI) vision is to be a leader in promoting a state of good health and well-being across RI. With this in mind, we aim to create spaces that encourages seniors to be more physically active, socially connected, and mindful.
Assist with the implementation of our field strategy, particularly, outdoor activities within each geographical area (North, East, and South).
Be responsible for administrative and structural support for these initiatives. Individual(s) will work with the Consumer Engagement Specialists.
Assist team with department initiatives and projects.
Attend initiative meetings and assist with implementing territory strategy.
Represent BCBSRI at community-based events in a professional manner.
Provide marketing support to increase brand awareness in broader RI community.
Lead events that will encourage physical activities.
Collect, record, analyze, and evaluate data and information by combining data elements from multiple disparate sources into a consolidated and integrated environment to allow robust insights to be readily derived.
Provide detailed recaps and reports following each event, inclusive of highlighting activities, issues, and frequently asked questions.
Participate in trainings, meetings, and brainstorm sessions.
Refer relevant issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely fashion.
Perform competitive intelligence to identify potential avenues for analytical investigation
Participate in intern group project and divisional scheduled engagements where possible, including community events or visits to BCBSRI retail stores.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
Professional speech and demeanor
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
Computer navigation skills
Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
Time management skills
Ability to collect and organize data; ability to gather facts
Team player with predisposition towards collaboration and passion to contribute to collective team goals.
Ability to meet established time and quality standards
Ability to exercise sound judgment

Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese/English) preferred given interaction with a multilingual community
Ability to provide own transportation to community events
Flexibility with schedule as there are some weekend and evening events
