That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?
In short, the Content Specialist connects insights, brand storytelling, and user intent to develop SEO-focused content that drives both discovery and conversion. This role requires conducting in-depth gap analyses, auditing competitors and SERPs, and identifying high-impact content opportunities that support the full marketing funnel. The position ensures that content investments generate measurable traffic, engagement, and revenue impact while strengthening overall brand authority.
What we're looking for:
Proven track record of conducting gap analyses and competitive research, including auditing SERPs, competitor content, and existing assets to uncover impactful content opportunities.
Includes analyzing trends, page formats and best practices across industries
Understands how content fits into the bigger picture of design, structure and user experience. Proven track record of making recommendations based on research that elevates the whole experience.
Strong grasp of brand positioning and messaging, and how to translate that into content guidelines and guardrails.
Comfortable challenging assumptions and advocates for new approaches around how to plan, structure and deliver content.
Fast, flexible content writer that's comfortable switching between creative storytelling and SEO driven writing styles while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Strong experience in taking an idea from concept to execution with minimal oversight, ensuring consistent results at every stage.
Understands that collaboration is important - communicates clearly across functions - from analysts and developers to key leadership stakeholders.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates agility, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
Strong plus: Comfortable (or has general knowledge) of AI tools used to speed up content creation and scale output without sacrificing brand voice or authenticity.
Strong plus: Knowledge and/or experience around AEO content best practices
What you'll be responsible for:
Help define and own a content strategy that supports SEO, brand positioning, and user intent across the full funnel.
Identify content opportunities through gap analysis, search intent mapping, and competitive research.
Personally contribute to content creation where needed using AI tools, including long-form editorial pieces, strategic landing pages, guides, and SEO-driven thought leadership content.
Partner with marketing stakeholders to ensure content quality, relevance, and alignment with brand standards.
Ensure consistent implementation of metadata, headings, schema, and SEO best practices across
Partner with analytics to monitor performance and continuously refine strategy and demonstrate the business impact of SEO investments.
Leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to improve keyword research, content ideation, and internal linking.
Stay ahead of emerging trends such as generative search experiences (e.g., AI overviews}, entity-based SEO, and conversational search behavior.
Qualifications:
3 -5 years of experience in content marketing, communications or related roles
Proven track record of researching, developing and executing SEO driven content strategies
Experience using AI writing and research tools is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Nice to Haves.
A portfolio demonstrating measurable business impact, including documented examples of strategic pivots implemented in response to underperformance and evolving results.
