Summary

The Content and Media Specialist will produce quality visual and textual assets in support of county amenities, services, programs, more, as directed. The Specialist additionally assists with taking photographs at events, celebrations, and the like – both onsite and offsite – for use in various mediums. Ability to work in an office building and remote, outdoor locations, as needed, and be responsible for transport, set up and operation of equipment. Position will be 40 hours per week and will require flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday assignments.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling, informative, and accurate content and visuals (dynamic and static) for use in various mediums including but not limited to the web, social media, printed collateral, newsletters, press releases, media alerts, and more to effectively communicate messages and achieve organizational goals.
• Develop and implement industry-standard media strategies, manages projects, and ensures media resources are organized and accessible.
• Build relationships with communities and audiences, and fosters engagement through messaging.
• Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
• Collaborate with other County teams to align communication strategies and outreach.
• Respond courteously and timely to inquiries from County divisions.
• Utilize, implement, and maintain industry-standard best practices, design trends, and data-driven user experience methodologies in all tasks.
• Proofread and copy edit all work product, both for self and for team colleagues as needed, according to AP Style.
• Provide photographic support as assigned, including but not limited to, photo opportunities, headshot photographs, photographic retouching, and photo composition creation.
• Recommend equipment updates and other purchases, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related area.
• Two to three years' experience working within a media role.
• Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License.
• Ability to work indoors in an office or studio environment and to work outdoors as needed (e.g. at the county 4-H Fair and other venues).
• Ability to lift 10-25 lbs.
• Ability to deal pleasantly and professionally with in-house and external customers and with vendors.
• Ability to work with limited supervision at a self-motivated pace.
• Ability to communicate verbally and write clearly in English.
• Experience and proficiency with cameras, sound equipment, lighting, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Mac and Windows platform computers.
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment.
• Knowledge of how to optimize images and video for the web; ability to post on social media, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
• Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously and to organize, prioritize, make decisions, and work efficiently and effectively under deadline.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to livestream video for various events
• Experience with other types of editing software and operating an iPad.
• A minimum of two years' work experience in the marketing sphere.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
