The Content Designer serves as the Club’s in-house visual content lead, combining graphic design with photography and videography to support communications and brand initiatives. Equal parts visual strategist and hands-on content producer, this role is responsible for designing, capturing, and delivering elevated print and digital materials that reflect the standards of world-class hospitality.
Reporting to the Communications Manager and working closely with department leaders, you will create polished print and digital materials, produce photo and video content, and develop messaging that engages and informs. Your work will shape the Club’s visual presence across digital platforms, social media, and publications.
Success in this role requires technical proficiency in graphic design alongside strong photo and video production capabilities, including shooting and editing. A strong eye for design, close attention to detail, and an appreciation for maintaining a consistent and elevated brand experience are essential. Experience in hospitality, private clubs, golf, racquets, or related lifestyle environments is strongly preferred, as understanding the culture and pace of these operations is key to creating relevant and compelling content. You are adaptable, thrive in an environment with evolving priorities, and bring a polished, professional presence with genuine enthusiasm for engaging with distinguished members, invited guests, and the public.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations
- Skilled in graphic design, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, notably Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Premiere.
- Video production experience, including recording and editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of DSLR and mirrorless camera systems, including manual settings, lighting, and composition; knowledge of drone operation and possession of a Remote Pilot Certificate is preferred.
- Strong illustration skills, with the ability to create custom maps, logos, marketing graphics, signage, and other original artwork as required.
- Experience working across both Mac and Windows operating systems, with proficiency in key applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Basic understanding of HTML and experience managing website content and email marketing platforms such as WordPress, Mailchimp, or HubSpot.
- Strong writing and editing abilities, with familiarity with AP Style guidelines.
- Knowledge of golf, racquet sports, and/or the hospitality industry is highly advantageous.
- Informed on contemporary digital content trends, including social media.
- Proven experience developing and executing projects with multiple deadlines while collaborating effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- A sociable individual who enjoys idea sharing and interaction with Club members and fellow staff.
Job Tasks / Duties
- Collaborate closely with departments to ideate and execute communications with defined deliverables and deadlines.
- Create compelling marketing materials across multiple platforms, including email campaigns, digital and printed graphics, flyers, signage, and event programs.
- Own the layout and design of long-form publications, including the membership magazine, staff newsletter, and historical digests.
- Develop and update Club materials such as dining menus, property signage, maps, procedure documents, and other operational or member-facing resources.
- Uphold the Club’s brand standards and organizational messaging across all communication platforms and materials.
- Attend and document key Club events through photography and video, including (but not limited to) golf tournaments, racquets events, swim meets, and social functions, creating visual highlights that showcase the Club experience.
- Capture high-quality photographs of general Club activities and spaces, including golf shop merchandise, food and beverage offerings, and the overall Club environment.
- Plan, shoot, and edit videos supporting the Club’s communication needs.
- Produce slideshows and annual reports for committees, the Board of Directors, and Club leadership.
- Oversee content distribution for the digital signage system throughout the property.
- Assist in administering the Club’s website, mobile app, and third-party reservation platforms.
- Create and manage the distribution of social media content.
- Maintain document, photo, and video asset libraries.
- Assist in proofreading all marketing materials for grammar, spelling, accuracy, and layout consistency.
- Serve as liaison with third-party printers.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar design-based role, supported by a portfolio of graphic, photo, and video content.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without accommodation, including sitting for long periods, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Primarily office-based, with occasional outdoor work required during golf season.
- Standard five-day workweek, with occasional holidays and weekends required.
- Adherence to the Club’s attire/dress standards.
