Bartender (part-time)

Step into the spotlight as a Bartender at our iconic downtown venues — Paramount Theatre and State Theatre — where every shift feels like opening night! In this role, you won’t just pour drinks — you’ll fuel the show. From crafting classic cocktails to serving up ice-cold favorites, you’ll keep the energy high and the good vibes flowing. Our bars are part of the experience, and you’ll be right at the center of it all. We’re looking for someone who’s quick on their feet, warm and welcoming, and thrives in a fast-paced, music-filled atmosphere. Bartenders represent the Paramount and State Theatres to patrons, members, donors, and artists and are expected to uphold the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes, portion standards, and theatre guidelines
  • Provides warm, professional service to all guests, including members, donors, and VIP patrons
  • Accurately operates the POS (Toast) system and handle all transactions according to cash handling procedures
  • Checks customer identification to ensure compliance with TABC and all applicable alcohol service regulations
  • Maintains knowledge of current beverage offerings, featured cocktails, and event-specific menus
  • Anticipates our guests’ needs, answers questions, and makes appropriate recommendations
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area before, during, and after service
  • Completes opening, closing, and side work duties thoroughly and on time
  • Monitors product levels during shifts and communicate low inventory to management
  • Follows all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Works collaboratively within a pooled-tip environment, contributing equally to service, stocking, and cleaning responsibilities to support a strong, accountable team culture
  • Represents the organization professionally and contributes to a positive, respectful workplace culture

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ bartending experience; high-volume or venue-based experience strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Active TABC Seller-Server Certification required prior to first shift
  • Valid Food Handler Certification required
  • Experience with Toast a plus
  • Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, beer and wine service, and responsible alcohol practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced event environment
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must adhere to all TABC laws, theatre policies, and Food & Beverage operational standards

Schedule:
Primarily evenings and weekends based on performance schedules; occasional daytime shifts may be required for special events, festivals, training, or meetings. Must be available to pick up posted shifts as needed.

Pay:
$9.30 per hour + tips
