Shenandoah Social is a Virginia-based creative agency specializing in social media management, content creation, and consulting for businesses in the Shenandoah Valley & beyond. We currently work with clients in luxury markets including wine, real estate, and home decor.

Most of our content is captured on-location in and around Charlottesville, Staunton, and surrounding areas.

Role Overview

The Content Creator would go to nearby client sites to capture photo and video content, then upload and organize those assets into our systems for the creative team. Shoots usually last 1–3 hours and will likely occur 1-3 times per month on average. All post-capture work (uploading, culling, organizing) is done remotely.

They would also attend bi-weekly team meetings to align with client strategies and creative direction, and maintain communication with the team via Notion and Voxer.

Responsibilities

• Go to client locations (within Charlottesville, Staunton, and surrounding areas) for on-site shoots as needed
• Capture high-quality photo and video content for marketing content
• Upload, organize, and integrate captured content into Google Drive and Notion
• Communicate reliably through Notion and Voxer; follow team workflows
• Participate in bi-weekly team meetings to stay aligned with strategy, content calendars, and goals
• Review or contribute to shot lists
• Research and stay on top of emerging trends, platform shifts, and evolving content formats

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be located in or near the Charlottesville–Harrisonburg area to reliably fulfill in-person content capture responsibilities
• Must own and use iPhone 15 Pro (or higher) for high-quality mobile capture
• Strong portfolio of photo/video work
• Preferred: own and be comfortable using a professional camera (mirrorless, DSLR, etc.)
• Ability to execute shoots independently, with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills; familiarity with Google Drive
• Familiarity or proficiency with Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest, including knowledge of content formats, and best practices
• Ability to meet deadlines and proactively communicate
• Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and a strong creative eye
• Photo and video editing skills in Lightroom, Photoshop, and/or Premier Pro is preferred but not required
