Content Creator & Strategist

Are you a passionate content creator with a flair for the creative? The Oklahoma Lottery is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join our fun and innovative marketing team!

This is not a traditional social media role. We are seeking a creative professional who understands that effective content is intentional, built for each platform, thoughtfully executed, and aligned with broader marketing objectives. This role will lead the development of high-quality creative assets across all Oklahoma Lottery social media platforms.

Success in this role requires the ability to translate strategy into compelling content that drives engagement, supports campaigns, and strengthens brand presence. We prioritize quality over quantity and expect content that is visually strong, purposeful, and aligned with brand standards.

This is a public-facing role that requires a professional, camera-ready presence during content capture. While not a primary on-camera position, candidates should be comfortable stepping in front of the camera when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure content aligns with strategic priorities, campaigns, and brand standards.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and produce engaging, platform-specific content (video, photography, and graphics) that supports marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and execute creative concepts using strong storytelling, pacing, and visual execution tailored to each platform.
  • Independently generate creative ideas and bring concepts to life from ideation through execution.
  • Create high-performing short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, etc.), including concepting, shooting, and editing.
  • Maintain and contribute to a strategic editorial calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.
  • Work cross-functionally with designers and internal teams to produce cohesive content and campaigns.
  • Present creative concepts and campaign ideas to leadership for development and execution.
  • Evaluate performance metrics in order to optimize content strategy.
  • Stay current on social trends, platform updates, and evolving best practices.
  • Uphold high standards for quality, attention to detail, and brand consistency across all deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Strong understanding of platform-specific content creation and performance across social channels.
  • Experience translating marketing strategy into effective creative execution.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with an eye for composition, pacing, typography, and lighting.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Experience using tools such as Envato, Midjourney, and ChatGPT to enhance creative workflows.
  • Strong video production, editing, and photography skills.
  • Demonstrated experience creating content across multiple platforms with a track record of driving engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting and proofreading.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout) and paid social strategies is a plus.

Other Considerations

  • Work schedule includes regular office hours at the Oklahoma Lottery headquarters in downtown Oklahoma City.
  • We offer a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and competitive retirement plans.
