The Content Creator & Video Editor is responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing high-quality, engaging video content for various digital platforms (e.g., social media, website, YouTube). This role requires a blend of creative vision, technical editing expertise, and a data-driven approach to storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Strategy & Ideation:
- Generate innovative video content ideas that align with brand objectives, marketing goals, and target audience interests.
- Research industry-related trends, platform updates, and audience insights to inform content creation.
- Develop scripts, storyboards, and shoot outlines for video projects (e.g., promotional videos, tutorials, short-form social media clips).
- Video Production:
- Oversee the entire production process, including setting up equipment for filming, lighting, and sound recording (or directing external videographers).
- Capture high-quality raw video footage (B-roll, interviews, product shots, etc.) that meets brand standards.
- Video Post-Production & Editing:
- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, cohesive, and compelling final videos using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Apply advanced video editing techniques including trimming, splicing, color correction/grading, and sound mixing/design.
- Integrate visual elements such as motion graphics, text overlays, titles, and visual effects (VFX).
- Source and implement licensed music, sound effects, and voiceovers.
- Optimization & Publishing:
- Adapt and format video content for specific platforms (e.g., YouTube aspect ratios, Instagram Reels length, LinkedIn requirements).
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and legal/copyright requirements.
- Assist with publishing and scheduling content across relevant channels.
- Analysis & Collaboration:
- Track and analyze video performance metrics (views, engagement, click-through rate, audience retention) and use data to refine future content strategy.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Product, and Design teams to ensure video content aligns with overall campaigns.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Communications, Marketing, or a related creative field (preferred).
- Experience:
- Proven work experience (e.g., 2 years) as a Video Editor, Content Creator, or similar role with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse video styles.
- Experience with end-to-end video production (filming, lighting, sound, and editing).
- Technical Skills (Must-Haves):
- Expert proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro).
- Proficiency in graphic/motion design software (e.g., Adobe After Effects and Photoshop).
- Strong knowledge of cinematography, lighting, and audio recording principles.
- Familiarity with various video formats, codecs, and compression techniques for digital platforms.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional storytelling ability with a keen eye for visual composition and pacing.
- High level of creativity and a passion for staying updated on digital media trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
